These intricately designed, ornamental-stemmed goblets are currently found in Murano's historic glass museum, originally created for private and museum collections in England and European countries. Known as tipetti, they were specially selected by La DoubleJ founder J.J. Martin and brought to life by Salviati, who have been keeping alive the rarefied art of artisanal glassmaking on the Venetian island of Murano since 1859. They are also the last people on earth who are capable of these historic, time-consuming and rare techniques.
THE ROSE The rose pendant rests on a morisa and is formed by a twisted reed of “rigadin” crystal, in white, red, green and aventurine and is adorned by violet flowers with transparent berries. The decoration is completed by pincer-worked winglets and curls with arches and ponticello morise. It retains all the imperfections of hand made glass: no two pieces are the same and bubbles and bumps are meant to be there. Use as a special occasion water or wine glass, votive candle holder or pride-of-place on your shelf, but take care: they're very delicate!
