These intricately designed, ornamental-stemmed goblets are currently found in Murano's historic glass museum, originally created for private and museum collections in England and European countries. Known as tipetti, they were specially selected by La DoubleJ founder J.J. Martin and brought to life by Salviati, who have been keeping alive the rarefied art of artisanal glassmaking on the Venetian island of Murano since 1859. They are also the last people on earth who are capable of these historic, time-consuming and rare techniques.
THE SUN goblet is composed of a transparent lemon yellow cup (please note it photographs as if it were opaque); the upper part of the stem features a complex rose pendant composed of a crystal reed with a core of white, red and green twisting and decorated by three delicate pink glass flowers. The flowers on each chalice are all made by hand by the master, petal by petal. It retains all the imperfections of hand made glass: no two pieces are the same and bubbles and bumps are meant to be there. Use as a special occasion water or wine glass, votive candle holder or pride-of-place on your shelf, but take care: they're very delicate!
