Ever wondered why you feel so great when you put on your brightly hued dress? Apart from the visual kick that’s delighting your eyeballs, you might also consider that colors have an energetic frequency you actually feel. In fact our own chakra system, comprising invisible energy centers that swirl in key points in your body from the crown of your head to the base of your spine, is delineated by specific colors and properties. Here’s the LDJ guide to what they all mean...
It’s Time to Get Really Rooted in Red
The 1st chakra, located at the very tip of your spine, burns a vibrant red when it’s well-oiled and fully cleared. It’s a great place to focus on moments of hardship. It functions around our notions of personal safety and belonging. How grounded do we feel when things get stormy up above, or when we loosen our day-to-day footing? Do we feel welcomed in our family and with ourselves no matter what we’re wearing, doing, producing or feeling? It’s where we hold our deep-seeded and often subconscious notions of security. It starts with our birth family and extends to the footing we create once we leave him and establish our own roots. This is an excellent place to focus your meditations and to bring loving light to.
The mantra to practice while meditating with your 1st chakra is:
The 2nd chakra, showered in juicy orange, is where most of our power of transformation is held. Without it, you wouldn’t even be here. Located in the womb for women, this chakra is the big bang of our energy system. Not only is it the focal point for our fertility and creativity, but also for our sexual pleasure, and most crucially, our self love. Self love is largely tied to our subconscious notions of self-worth, and this in turn greatly affects our manifesting output, both with children, projects, ideas and even dinner! The greater sense of worth you have, the more you will amplify your talents and be able to share your gifts with others.
The mantra to practice while meditating with your 2nd chakra is:
The 3rd chakra, located beneath the ribs in our solar plexus, is our fiery command center that burns a vibrant yellow. This is where our will, force and ability to get things done reside. When this chakra is balanced, we are able to activate our inner personal power and move forward gracefully and confidently. When overly active, we are either too commanding or too controlling. When it is under active, we do not penetrate or show up enough when it comes to situations, rooms, conversations or experiences. For working women, this chakra is almost always overused and abused. Its fire, which can be a magnificent tool, can instead consume too much and burn things apart rather than buoy them up. It brings up many of our fears with trust and withstanding uncertainty. Its balancing is a major gateway towards healthy manifestation.
The mantra to practice while meditating with your 3rd chakra is:
I LET GO FROM MY NEED TO CONTROL THIS. I ALLOW MY PERSONAL POWER TO ACTIVATE.
Open Your Heart With Verdant Green and Bright Pink
The 4th chakra is located in your heart center and is the focal point for your
personal growth, true passions and your connection with others. When we go
inside the heart, deeply and fearlessly, we may realize, “ouch! I feel grief, pain
and helplessness here.” As a consequence, we usually want to run away from
the heart and its open, raw state. But when we stay with that very tender
quality within us and begin to send it our own love, compassion, forgiveness
and mercy, our inner muscles grow, allowing you to weather any outer storm.
Then the heart does its main business of bringing you joy and love that you
share freely with others.
The mantra to practice while meditating with your 4th chakra is:
The 5th chakra is based at your throat and is connected deeply to your mouth, tongue and teeth. Showered in a clear sky blue, this is the chakra that is
tethered to our communication skills and blocks. How do we relate to others
verbally? Are we too harsh with our words? Are we too kind when we
shouldn’t be? How, when and where do we not speak our truth? Consider for
a moment the areas of your life and what needs to be said to those you are
closest to.
The mantra to practice while meditating with your 5th chakra is:
I VOW TO SPEAK MY TRUTH WITH KINDNESS, COURAGE AND COMPASSION.
The 6th chakra is located in between your physical eyes and slightly above
them and is known in Eastern traditions as the 3rd eye. This is the eye that
opens when your regular eyes shut. This is your lantern that shines the light
on your intuition and your deepest inner knowing. It is connected energetically
with your pineal and pituitary glands in the brain and is the seat of your inner
sight. It has nothing to do with regular thoughts and daily brain functioning.
For some lucky ladies, this is the throne of their clairvoyance. The color here
is a deep indigo blue.
The mantra to practice while meditating with your 6th chakra is:
I NOW OPEN MY 3RD EYE TO SEE MY SOUL’S PATH AND WHAT IS ALIGNED FOR MY HIGHEST GOOD
