A message from our Founder,

When we do things at La DoubleJ, we do them all in. My goal with our Sisterhood is always to connect, to amplify, to create community, to shine a light. This project to create a three-piece charitable collection for (RED), the world’s leading foundation in the fight against AIDS - brought to us by our dear friend Laura Brown - speaks directly to our Raise Your Vibration mission. It has been the most beautiful experience getting to know (RED) and their pioneering work in such a deep way, to understand not only the current threats to their progress, but to also find opportunities to see how we can take our Sisterhood mission and create something of service in a truly direct way.

Last month in New York, we had the chance to meet and connect with the most incredible, badass women who didn’t hesitate to jump on board and join us for this cause. No questions asked, just an immediate response of “How do we help?”, “What can we do?”, “How can we support?” That Divine Feminine energetic (an energetic applicable to all humans but that is particularly prominent in women) - that attitude of caring, of listening and showing up is 100% The La DoubleJ Sisterhood at work.

What I’ve learned working on this project is that, for many people, the AIDS crisis has been losing visibility in recent years, that young women are disproportionally affected, and that now, with all the recent funding cuts, it is more urgent that ever to step up and help. Sometimes people just need a nudge, an easy way to lend a hand. We’re here to provide that little nudge with this capsule - a beautifully crafted cotton voile jacquard shirt and short, cut and sewn on Lake Como and a 100% Italian silk foulard (a wardrobe essential in our hometown of Milan). All proceeds from purchases of this collection go directly to (RED). Put simply, this is a win-win. You receive a vibration-raising luxury item imprinted with the vitality and joy of the Italian artisans who made it, while also directly supporting this vital fight.

Beyond getting the opportunity to put our Sisterhood mission into practice, this project gave me the chance to connect with some of the most extraordinary women who joined us for the campaign - Laura Brown, Iman, Noma Dumezweni, Lake Bell, Anne V, Phoebe Robinson, Mychal Bella-Bowman, chef Hong Thaimee, Mickey Sumner, Micaela Erlanger, Peyton Dix, Marisol Thomas, Dee Poku, and Angelica Hicks - with whom we discussed everything from style to spiritual practices to energy elevating tools.

We are so grateful to (RED) for continuing to show up in this particularly challenging moment, and for creating this beautiful container that has allowed the LDJ Sisterhood to activate and expand our community around this vital cause. It was such a beautiful day.
