At La DoubleJ, we believe in celebrating the artistry and passion of Italy’s most talented artisans. Every item in our new Bamboo Glassware Collection is a testament to the centuries-old traditions, meticulous craftsmanship, and unwavering dedication of the masters hand blowing each vessel in the Tuscan hills. Every step in this intricate process - from molten sand to perfectly polished branded barware - is performed with love, precision, and an eye for excellence. Scroll for a glimpse into how we bring our vibrant visions to life.
With gentle, rhythmic blows, the glass is then guided into a custom mold to craft the signature shape of our glassware—be it the elegant Martini Glass or the ample Balloon Glass. The glass is then carefully hung or slowly rotated in mid-air to finesse its thickness and elegance, every movement guided by generations of expertise.
Once the main shape is ready, the glass is gently detached from the blowpipe. The artisans then attach the stem, shaped with pliers, and affix the base, seamlessly fusing the components while the glass remains molten, creating harmony and balance.
The glass is then set to gently, slowly cool in a thermal oven for 4-5 hours to ensure the glass thickens and solidifies with durability, free from the risks of thermal shock and internal stress, before the piece is cut, the rim is sanded and the entire vessel is polished to gleaming perfection. Finally, the "color master" hand spray paints each glass individually - be it the stem of the coupe or the full length of the tumbler - before our "J.J." monogram is etched into the base, ready to add a little Italian radiance to your next celebration.
