Winter Solstice Guided Meditation
The Winter Solstice invites us to embrace the themes of rest, celebration, and rebirth on December 21st.
During the three days surrounding the Solstice, the sun appears to pause in its trajectory until December 25th, when it begins to ascend once more, marking a new phase in its creative cycle, which continues to the Summer Solstice. This pivotal moment coincides with the celebration of the birth of the Son of God on December 25th, or Christmas, reflecting the natural cycle of the sun.
The rebirth of the Sun symbolizes our own journey of renewal.
On the Sacred Sun Cycle, the Winter Solstice is not a time to set new resolutions but to receive the illumination of our deepest heart’s desires for the coming year. Hold these aspirations tenderly in your heart, nurturing them with light and love. This sacred pause provides the space to refine our goals before planting the seeds of intention at Imbolc (February 1st), when we commit to manifesting our visions.
Across the globe, ancient cultures revered the energy of the Winter Solstice, constructing sacred sites—temples, dolmens, and stone circles—designed in geometric harmony to channel the powerful influx of solar light from this celestial alignment into their communities and leadership.
At Karnak in Egypt, the statue of Amen Ra glimmers with brilliant gold, receiving the blessings of the solar bath, accompanied in ritual by the Pharaoh, their beloved, and the High Priest and High Priestess. Directly across the Nile lies the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, meticulously aligned with Karnak, also basking in the Winter Solstice sun. This illumination floods the Chapel of Osiris, invoking qualities of resurrection and renewal. The festivals marking the Birth of Ra, celebrated by Goddess Nuit, and the Birth of Horus, through Goddess Isis, resonate through these sacred days leading up to December 25th.
This Winter Solstice, join us on this guided meditation journey into the mystical Karnak Temple in Egypt. Purify yourself at the Sacred Lake, partake in a transformative ritual with Khepera, the scarab Sun God of Change, and embody the essence of the Sun God as you rise with Amen Ra and the Milky Way.
